Our Professor, Robson "Robinho" Moura
Robson “Robinho” Moura is a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a 8X World Champion. He is from Teresopolis (a small town in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), and currently resides in Tampa, FL. where he established The Robson Moura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy.
Robson has been competing in BJJ competitions since the age of 13. With an excellent martial philosophy, hard working style and love of the game, he is among the greatest of the world’s Jiu-Jitsu players.
Robson holds his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under world renowned Master Andre Pederneiras. Robson attained the rank of 1st degree black belt at the age of 18 under Andre!
The History of Robson “Robinho” Moura
The sport history of this ‘Carioca’ begins in 1988 at the age of 10 when he started training Jiu Jitsu in his hometown of Teresopolis (a small town in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). His first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teacher was Jucao. Robinho was supported and encouraged by his family, especially his father.
Robhino quickly grew his skills, becoming a champion of many competitions, and collecting a number of regional titles. When his instructor Jucao moved to Rio, Robson started training under Master Andre Pederneiras and Wendel from their elite team.
He continued to grow his skills and abilities, achieving national and international titles, becoming very well respected and esteemed. He is considered to have a very proficient and competitive way of fighting. By 18 Robson had achieved his greatest dream by becoming a Black Belt and today his is one of the most valued players in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Professor Raymond Shawdee

Co-founder of New England Top Team, Raymond Shawdee began his journey in Martial Arts when he was only 8 years old. Over the last couple decades Ray has had the opportunity to learn under some of the most Elite Professors such as Professor Robson Moura, Professor Daniel Gazoni, Mickey Ward (World Champion Boxer), Joe Lake (World Class Boxing Trainer) and Chuck Furtado (Jeek Kune Do "Full Instructor" under Richard Bustillo).
Ray competes at the highest level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is proud to hold the rank of Black Belt under the legendary Robson Moura. As an undefeated Amateur Fighter, in 2009 Ray became a Professional Mixed Marital Arts fighter who currently holds a proud Professional fighting record of 5-3-0 and is Undefeated as a Professional Kickboxer.
Ray’s experience in the ring paired with his arsenal of technical knowledge is ideal in a training environment. His attention to detail helps provide students with a solid foundation of learning.
On top of being an Elite Martial Artist and Trainer, he also is New England Top Team’s 1 on 1 Personal Trainer and Nutrition consultant. With much success, Ray will customize individual training sessions and nutritional guidelines that will allow you to successfully reach your goals.
Ray continues to learn, study philosophy and evolve as a fighter, as coach and as a business owner to continue to enlighten students that walk through our door.

Coach Kellsie Caswell

Lead Instructor of our Women's Only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Program

Co-founder of New England Top Team, Kellsie started her Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey in 2015. In Feburary 2020 Kellsie had a baby and was determined to focus on herself to become a leader for other women to get into Jiu Jitsu as well as live a healthy lifestyle. She started a new women's only program in 2020 that has just taken off with brand new women learning self-defense and the art of Jiu Jitsu. Outside of being a mom, co-owner of New England Top Team, Kellsie is an amazing carpenter.

Kellsie is an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She earned her brown belt in December 2022 and is excited to compete at this new level with the best of the best.
